Just HIT It!

I’ve always loved Nike’s slogan Just Do It. It’s simple, short and sweet and straight to the point. The good news is there is also a short and sweet way to exercise when you’re low on time and motivation.  Research has long shown that short burst of High Intensity Exercise (HIT) can net good results.

HIT is a time-efficient and effective alternative to traditional endurance exercise for boosting weight loss, aerobic stamina, and cardiovascular health. Below is one such routine designed to target all your major muscle groups in a relatively short period of time. The exercises should be performed in their order to maximize the benefits and allow for muscle recovery between exercises.

Here’s how it works.

  1. Perform the first exercise at full intensity for 30 seconds.
  2. Rest for 10 seconds.
  3. Perform the next exercise at full intensity for 30 seconds.
  4. Rest for 10 seconds, and so on.

Repeat this cycle until you have completed all 12 exercises. For you over achievers out there you can repeat the whole routine 2 or 3 more times for a real challenge!
