It’s good to resist!

Looking for the perfect piece of exercise equipment this holiday season? You know the one that won’t double as a coat hanger in a few weeks or take up an entire room? Here’s an oldie but goodie – resistance bands. What I love about them is they are relatively inexpensive, easy to use and easy to store.  

The different colors they come in represent the amount of resistance, so you might want to pick up a few, since certain exercises require more tension than others.  To really maximize your exercise options include a door attachment which allows you to convert your door into a cable training station. There are a wide variety of bands available, but I recommend using both the type that already has a handle attached and plain tubing.  A great place to start is with this travel kit.

Once you get your bands you can go to Spark People or Band-Exercises.net to choose exercises, see how they are performed and create a workout.  It’s a great way to get a quick work out and get on with your day. And let’s face it; many of us already have them sitting at home from some type of rehab or physical therapy.  😉
